Grade 8 students must score Basic AND/OR Approaching Basic in English/Language Arts and/or Mathematics to be considered for promotion to grade 9.
Students who do not pass the test in the spring will be considered for a waiver if they have met all other promotion requirements and they:
- attend LEAP Remediation summer school and meet attendance requirements
- pass the course/courses registered for
- retake the summer LEAP21 test and score Basic/Approaching Basic and/or Approaching Basic/Approaching Basic in ELA and Math
***For this waiver consideration, students must attend summer remediation, pass coursework, and take the retest.
